E-man's Party

Better late than never, I suppose.  E-man's birthday party was almost two weeks ago.  We had our family and a few close friends over to eat and celebrate... because how you can celebrate with out eating? : )
I wasn't the best at getting pictures of E with all his "people" in one place, but here's what he can remember:

well... some of these back up to the few days before.
Here he is opening a present that his "gigi and papa" (great grandparents) in Pensacola sent him.  I've never seen him so excited about the wrapping paper!

Eating birthday muffins made by my mom... he was a fan!

Party time...
Heather and Bryant are expecting E's new best friend in December!

Friends and newly weds : )

Not such a fan of icing... he's a momma's boy... just give me the cake! : )

Cousin Liam and aunt Rachel

Keely!

This was the grown up cake that my mom made... it was so good!

I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works;
my soul knows it very well.

E-man is one!

Well the big day came... E-man turned 1 last Thursday!  We took his 12 month elephant picture then, so that we could display all of them at his party this weekend.

A little about E at one year: as of this week our big guy is- a (mostly) full time walker, really good at throwing fits, and saying or signalling for several things. He's still in 18 month clothing, so it seems his growth has slowed down a bit, but he's still really long! He thinks that every animal makes the sound that a monkey does "ah ah ah", dogs and cats are his favorite.  He would stay out side all day long if I would let him, and he loves to "blow" bubbles.

Here's a look at how much our little fella has changed over the last year.  I think his biggest change was between 2 and 3 months... and I promise I really did take these every month and not on one day with 9 outfit changes :)

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

life lately

Our last few weeks have been pretty full... preparations for travel, the traveling, preparation for company and company coming.  Oh, and not to forget, our little big man is turning 1 tomorrow!  He is off and walking as well...
Here is what we've been up to according to the iphone...

Playing in the backyard with the sprinkler-

helping with the laundry-

excited about sending birthday letters to our friend who is a long way away!-

Wanting to drink cokes... that's a coke zero in his hand that he pulled out of the fridge, and brought it to me using the signal that he wants to drink!-

blowing bubbles... he makes a blowing noise for us when he wants to "blow" bubbles.. though, there's not so much blowing and just a lot of putting the wand in and out-

getting familiar with elmo-

swimming-

babysitting cousin Liam- E-man let him sleep : ) -

trying out the splash pad-

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:6-8 ESV)
